George W Grayson
His uncle was William Grayson, from Oktaha, OK, as described in the book Saunt, Black, White, and Indian. William married Judah, a former slave, and they had several children together.
Grayson, like most people in the United States, had a unique background. His great grandfather was of Scottish descent and lived among the Creek during the late 1700's. His great grandmother was affiliated with the Upper Creek villages and her daughter (Grayson's grandmother) married a man from the Lower Creek villages. Grayson was enrolled in a Christian-English centralized school at a young age. He later developed a love for history and literature.
